BLOOMSBURG — Two goals by freshman Samantha Kropa (Tunkahannock/Lackawanna Trail) were the difference, as the Bloomsburg University Field Hockey team defeated the Indiana (Pa.) University Indians 3-1 on Sunday.

After a scoreless first period, IUP's Suzanne Cornelissan got the Indians on the board. The IUP lead was short lived, as Kropa added her first goal of the game six seconds after Cornelissan's goal. The Huskies took the lead for good after Kropa's second goal, which came off an assist from teammate Kelly Trevisan (Lancaster/Manheim Township). Marie Zorzi (Mountaintop/Crestwood) then put the game out of IUP's reach when she scored with a little over eight minutes left in the game. Maribeth Brozena (Larksville/Wyoming Valley West) was credited with the assist on the play.

In goal, Tracey Hudak (Sweet Valley/Lake Lehman) made 10 saves.

With the victory, Bloomsburg improved it's overall record to 9-1 and 5-1 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). The Huskies return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Mansfield.
